Day 1 Home City Overnight flight to Lima, Peru's capital city, the "City of Kings".
Day 2 Lima Meet and Greet upon arrival to the Airport, and Transfer to the Doubletree El Pardo Hotel. A room has been reserved for you to check-in and relax upon arrival. This afternoon, you'll have an excellent introduction to Peruvian culture with a visit to the Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History, considered to be Peru's most prominent and complete museum. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a delightful Peruvian welcome dinner. D
Day 3 Lima - Caral - Huaraz Depart early this morning for Caral, the oldest city in the Americas! Dotted with pyramid temples, sunken plazas and an amphitheater, Caral's landscape truly embodies the ancient Caral-Supe culture. During your visit you will learn about the city's monumental architecture and social, economic and political systems. Depart Caral, crossing the Peruvian Central Andes to Huaraz, a region known as the "Peruvian Switzerland." Check in to the Hotel Andino. B, D
Day 4 Huaraz - Huascaran National Park - Huaraz Enjoy an unforgettable day of sightseeing through the quiet country roads, lush eucalyptus forests and stunning vistas that make up Huascaran National Park. En route to Callejon de Huaylas, witness Andean villages, mountain peaks and the glaciers of Huascaran Mountain. Marvel at the stunning views all around you and behold the green and saphire-colored waters of Chinancocho and Orconcocha Lakes. B
Day 5 Huaraz - Chavin de Huantar - Huaraz Explore the wonders of Chavin, a religious center built more than 3,000 years ago, and considered one of the greatest examples of architectural ingenuity in the world. Visit ornate ceremonial rooms and pyramids built of massive stone blocks. In the Old Temple, marvel at the Room of the Lanzon, an impressive stone sculpture featuring the feline, bird and snake patterns characteristic of the Chavin iconography. B, L, D
Day 6 Huaraz - Sechin - Trujillo Your day begins with an exploration of the Sechin archaeological site. During a visit to the museum, learn about the pre-Hispanic cultures that settled this region. Then continue on to the elegant colonial city of Trujillo, loctaed on the Moche River. Check-in to the Libertador Trujillo Hotel. B, D
Day 7 Trujillo - Chan Chan - Chiclayo A panoramic city tour of Trujillo highlights the Main Square, La Merced Church and El Recreo Square. Next, explore the culture and heritage of the ancient Moche, a pre-Inca civilization that once dominated the valleys of the northern coast of Peru. Experience the adobe engineering of the Temple of the Sun, the tallest pyramid in the Americas. Just steps away you'll find the Temple of the Moon, the seat of Moche political power. Later, visit Chan Chan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the former capital of the Chimu Empire. Check-in to the Gran Hotel Chiclayo. B, D
Day 8 Chiclayo Following breakfast, procedd to the 4th century complex of Huaca Rajada. These pyramids and royal mausoleums were dedicated to the Lord of Sipan, one of the greatest warlords of the Moche people. Explore the Royal Tombs of Sipan Museum, rated one of the most outstanding archaeological museums in South America. Your next stop is the Sican Museum, dedicated to scientific research of the Sican people. Admire the many artistic treasures discovered in the tombs, displaying exquisite artistry in gold, silver and ceramics. B
Day 9 Chiclayo - Cuzco - Sacred Valley of the Incas This morning fly to Cuzco, charming Spanish colonial city built a top Inca ruins and once capital of the Inca Empire. Arrival and board your coach and descend through the Andes Mountains to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Along the way, take in the breathtaking beauty of your surroundings. Visit Awana Kancha, a living museum of the Peruvian Andes, and learn about centuries-old methods of spinning, dyeing and weaving traditional Andean textiles. Next, visit the Pablo Seminario Ceramic Studio to learn about his internationally known artist's techniques and designs inspired by ancient Peruvian culture. This evening, unwind at your hotel, the Libertador Valle Sagrado Lodge, nestled in the heart of the Sacred Valley. B, D
Day 10 Sacred Valley of the Incas - Ollantaytambo Delve into the culture and lifestyle of the modern Andean people during a visit to a small village. You can interact with the locals and gain insight into their daily life. This afternoon, visit the spectacular Ollantaytambo runis. B
Day 11 Sacred Valley of the Incas - Machu Picchu - Cuzco You'll take a thrilling morning train ride aboard the Vistadome through the Andes on your way to the "Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu, discovered by Yale University's Hiram Bingham in 1913. Spend the day with your guide uncovering the mysteries of this magical place, one of the "New Seven Wonders of the World". Late afternoon, return to Cuzco. Check-in to the Novotel Cuzco. B
Day 12 Cuzco Explore this former capital of the Inca Empire during a city tour. Disover the important sacred Inca ruins of Sacsayhuaman Fortress and ceremony centers of Tambomachay, Qenco, Puca Pucara and Lanlacuyoc. Next, you have the opportunity to meet Peruvian children with a special visit to a local orphanage sponsored by the Collette Foundation. This evening, enjoy a dinner and performance of Andean folkloric music and dance. B, D
Day 13 Cuzco - Lima This morning you board your flight to Lima. Arrival and City Tour of the "City of Kings", Peru's capital city, a blend of modern and rich colonial architecture. Afternoon, visit to the Larco Museum, housed in a fabulous 18th century mansion surrounded by beautiful gardens. Check-in to the Casa Andina Private Collection Miraflores Hotel. B
Day 14 Lima Visit the renowned Gold Museum where you will see priceless examples of pre-Inca and Inca gold, jewelry and ceremonial artifacts from its private collectio. Gather with fellow travelers at one of Lima's finest restaurants for a farewell dinner. B, D
Day 15 Lima - Home City At the appropiate hour, Transfer to Airport for flight homeward or next destination.
